I am overwhelmed by all the talent at SXSW this year and the ease of getting into the shows. I have been able to enjoy some of the greats ranging from Steve Earle to Lacuna Coil. Butch Walker to Rodney Crowell. Jim Lauderdale to Stonebreed. Good music is music no matter how you slice it, get cha some. VRP
Quite simply, something had been lacking in my musical life for about the last year. We had gigs but I didn't look forward to them. I was tired of screaming the whole night.
Thank God and my will to not give up and a very understanding husband, I am now doing what I love......playing acoustic guitar and singing where I want and when I want and doing the songs I feel represent who I am.
Don't worry, Mike is still playing guitar. He may show up at some of my shows to run sound or may be my duo partner.
He has joined a band called AUDIOQUEEN and they will be out gigging soon, I hope.
As for me, Coffee houses, Farmer's Markets, Austin Airport, Edge of Town Saloon in Pfluggerville, Jokers Ice House in Killeen, TX have all helped me get back to the basics again. I love them for it.
